There's nothing better than a flintlock black powder thompson center 50 cal for home protection. And they are about $200. It you don't hit them the black powder will supply enough smoke coverage for you to throat punch the intruders.

If you're going to a show take a gun savvy friend so you don't overpay. Some of the guns at gun shows are priced very high.
Gun show rule of thumb..........If you are selling, go on a Saturday. Dealers are more apt to buy because it gives them Sat. and Sunday to turn it around.
If you are buying go on a Sunday....dealers are more apt to lower the price so they don't have to take inventory home.
