Cam swap 357 chevy

Buddy in his tweaked carbed 6.0 LS is only a fender behind me in my 1947 Dodge truck if we go from a roll.
I kill him from a standing start.
But I need more cow bells!!!
So the 228@ .050 roller cam is coming out and a 252@ .050 solid flat tappet will take it's place.
I will see if that puts some distance between us.

I like flat tappets and that roller was my first one to ever run.. it pulls strong to 7000 rpm so can't complain really. His truck ran 13.5 and I can beat him by 2 lengths easy.
I want 10 lengths though.
Like he tossed out the anchor

I always thought they performed better than a roller cam in the right set up

Thinking about doing the swap today but it would suck if something happened and I did not finish in time for wife to park her car in the garage tonight and a hail storm pummels it.
