The first thing the Vendor is handed by the promotor is a Oklahoma Sales tax sheet. Then after the show is over, The State of Oklahoma Sales tax Commission sends you a letter requesting the sales tax for every sale you made at that show. The vendor is required to keep books on every sale, and collect tax on every sale then turn that money into the state. Many of us that are FFL's and own stores do that every month. If we do not, we loose our sales tax permitt. Now that being said, you will find people in every walk of life that do not folllow the rules and get away with it. We all know them, they range from the top to the bottom. Money is passed under the table every day in life we also all know that. But for me, life is too short, I play by the rules. I do not live in the fast lane, I do not like looking over my sholder. Yes, I charge sales tax. At the fair grounds it is 8.375% (I will have to look on the sheet, but I think that is what is was, Im not by it now) In Moore it is 8.25% I have made it very simple, I have a program, it is in my computer, when I ring up a purchase, and it is at the fairgrounds it charges that tax, when it is in Moore, it charges that tax, etc. Like I said life is to short enjoy it. I do want to say I did get a very nice pair of ear plugs made today by EAR inc.com. Great guy. I highly recommend him. .
