Want to know something before I call it a day. When I did my .308 brass fail testing with different cases . 1 federal, 1 winchester, 1 lapua and 1 remington. Loading at the range with scooped powder charges and full length sizing the cases and brushing the necks but no annealing. I DID NOT trim the cases until they got into the chamber which was about .035" past trim length. My groups stayed the same all the time under an inch at 100 yards. I later found great accuracy with my .223 even if I skipped trimming. With that said for me trimming to the exact .001" is not a concern. if I can stay .010" I am happy with that for my .223. I just have not found any great accuracy with exact trim length. But i did find accuracy with measuring shoulder Ogive and neck ID and OD . I must make those all match between cases.
