Red Skelton's bit was the best, IMHO. Dude just flat out rolled with it...and kept right on rolling with it.
When I was a kid, the Red Skelton show was a favorite of my Dad, Mom and I. Freddie the Freeloader, Junior the Mean Widdle Kid, Gertrude & Heathcliff, San Fernando Red, Clem Kadiddlehopper, Sheriff Deadeye, Cauliflower McPugg, etc. made for some very funny shows.
