[QUOTE="nofearfactor, post: 2015144, member: 1535"] I dont know shite about how to help someone else with their money workings, just what works for me. Ive been pretty lucky so far. I got a debit card hit online for a $1 once while they were fishing me, caught it, and immediately called and turned it in and changed the cards number. They were trying to use it on a penny auction site. I was quick, but they also would have only been able to get $25 too. Not alot of money, but its still a violation and makes you feel freaky. Usually I like to have some cash on hand for most all general purchases under $100 even though I do have to carry around large amounts of cash on me here and there when I'm buying used cars, used or vintage amps and guitars, etc. Thats when the concealed carry permit pays for itself. The wife carries some cash to use for her daily stuff and she has a credit card in her purse only for emergencies, big purchases, etc, even though she rarely uses it. She doesnt ever really use the check card either unless she's grocery shopping. Ske likes to use cash. I have credit and bank check cards and a business credit card. If I do have to use my banks Visa check card I usually only use it at places where I can swipe it or see it being swiped- Walmart, ATM, QT (inside, never at the pump), etc- and I'm online frequently checking the accounts. I wont use a check card at restaurants or places where they just walk away with it and can do whatever with it, thats when I use a credit card. And then usually its one of my business credit cards that gets used for stuff like restaurant and hotel bills, plane tickets, etc. One of the perks of being self employed. Stuff like the new dishwasher I just bought my wife, new tires for a vehicle, etc, all that stuff goes on my personal credit cards. And I always keep them paid up too. My mother is a retired long time banker and she worked with all of us kids at an early age about money management skills, as I have done with my own kids. But its a new and scary electronic world out there now too so I help my sibs keep an eye out for my mother and stepfather and try to help monitor their money as they are like most older people in their late 70s, getting forgetful, and are too trustful.
