Go about selecting a T53 just as you would an M44. Generally, the T53 will be a little rougher and will exhibit characteristics of a rifle not well cared for. But, if you just want a reliable truck gun, there's nothing wrong with them. Just don't pay good M44 prices for one unless it's a real doozie.
