I have a jeep wrangler that you can't start and keep running by jumping it if the battery is toast. The reason being the alternator.  In my jeep, and assuming your aspen since it's a chrysler product, for the alternator to work there has to be enough electrical current to keep the electromagnetic field from collapsing inside the alternator. Basically, you have to have enough power to keep your alternator "turned on" or it won't run. Older cars didn't have this problem.</p></blockquote><p></p>
