I've had several of their knives and been happy with them. I broke the tip off of one and I contacted them about a blade replacement. They told me to send it back. When I got it back, it was the same blade that had been shortened and re-shaped.

More recently, my oldest son has got me hooked on Benchmade knives.

Older cold steel made in the USA are what you want .

yes older cold steel models are more desirable but not just made in USA .. some of the highest quality blades were made in Seiki Japan .. san mai or three layer laminated Tonto has to be one of my favorite blades and just about indestructible.

original San Mai Master Tonto by Cold Steel .. one of the best blades made at any price. this is the blade that earned Cold Steel it's reputation for quality blades.

if you are into long swords .. Cold Steel makes some of the finest modern Japanese blades!
don't let the plain appearance fool you .. these are absolutely functional weapons .. well balanced and a joy to hold.
