My favorite baseball player was (and still is) George Brett of the KC Royals. About 25 years ago, I saw an interview where they asked him when he was going to become a manager, and he said he wasn’t. He said if he did, the owner would probably fire him the first time he benched a star player for not running out a routine grounder to first.
