People are taking this well in Norman. Seriously though, Lincoln Riley, joined by defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, WRs coach Dennis Simmons, director of ops Clarke Stroud & strength coach Bennie Wylie arrived a private hanger at Will Rogers airport to depart for Los Angeles this morning. (He's taking Alex Grinch? Really?? He's not going to need a real defense in the PAC 10 until next seasons bowl game). Anyway . . . huge upside for him; more money, better weather, no SEC, and the girls - ooh la la! (Just Kidding, I know he's a family man). Hey, it's his life. I think he left behind a few hurt feelings, including Dean Blevins, who didn't get the OU Head Coach show done on Sunday (Lincoln was a no-show) so he had no chance for a "scoop". Just goes to show what I know (or don't know), I would have bet a $20 that Bob Stoops would NOT be the Interim Head Coach. I would have thought it would be (wait for it) the Defensive Coordinator! So now we have "guest" head coach. Hey, I love Bob, don't get me wrong. And I think he kinda got the boot early so they could ensure Lincoln Riley would stay to be the head coach (and what ever happened to all of those "head coach in waiting" titles that the collages used some years ago. I don't think it worked out they way they thought it would . . . ) Heck, maybe we'll see Barry Switzer as a Guest Head Coach sometime next year . . . No one knows what the future holds. :)
