There are places here in Shawnee that do that. One namely is the Citizen Potawatomi Nation indian housing. They won't even let you have BB guns in the house. I understand that businesses have the right to do this but I don't agree with it. It says in our SDA handbook that citizens have the right to expect absolute safety within their homes or places of business. This also falls under either a dwelling you own or lease. But when a landlord doesn't want guns in their homes or apartments they are depriving a person of their right to feel absolute safety in their home. I think this really needs to be addressed and changed. I know that some of you will say "just live somewhere else". Well that isn't a possibility for some. Some people live in certain places because it is all they can afford. Someone shouldn't have to feel unsafe because a landlord doesn't want guns. It is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. There is no reason to not allow it. I can tell you this, no one would ever tell me I couldn't have a gun in the house to protect my family.
