Sheriffs don't matter when City/Town Police will gladly engage in a modern kristallnacht if ordered to do so.
Let's see what happens when the Judge(s) issuing the order(s) jails them for contempt.
Is said judge also going to physically detain them and put them in the cell? Because who do you think controls the bailiffs?
