I was in a wreck in 95. I was pulling out from an intersection and there was a car turning onto the same street. A lady whips around the car turning and T-bones me. Destroyed my car, put a tiny dent in her 76 Lincoln. Because I was pulling out from a stop, I was automatically at fault. The judge called BS and struck the ticket down. She still filed against my insurance. Flash forward 19 years. I am at tag agency to get my license renewed. She says hold on, sit tight. I ask if there is a problem. She asks if I had ever been to CO. I tell I lived there 20 years ago. Apparently, the officer failed to record my insurance info on the report and so the state says I didn't have insurance (which I did), and they suspended my license in 1996. BS! I have never had a Colorado license, and have renewed said license at least 4 times since then, but they must be hurting for tax dollars, so they retroactively filed this. I now have to either find a verification from 1995 or pay $100 and fill out a bunch of forms. This is total bullcrap. Amazingly enough, my dad never through anything away, so I have a verification from then for our suburban, but not my car (I was on their insurance at the time). Unfortunately, Farmers only keeps records for 10 and the agent passed away 4 years ago, so the records may be lost. I am likely going to have to pay the damn fee. It's not the fee, it's that I have to pay it all.</blockquote>
