Comet in sky 9:20 pm in the west by that bright planet

I was out getting drill bits from the shed and seen the bright planet in the west up high and got my rifle and scope and looked at it and seen a comet just below it and to the north.
Anyone else see it.

I got the wife 5 minutes later and got her outside and it was gone.
Had a tail on the back side of it and all of that was just gone.

I think that may be Neptune and would a comet have a slow move and all the sparklies in the tail and tail shaped like a a very long isosceles triangle?

I have been googling any reports and I found nothing.

There is supposed to be a comet coming, but don't remember if it was going to be visible in the US.

I'm not an astronomer, but don't comets stick around in the sky longer? Coming and then going in just a few minutes sounds like maybe a meteor shower?

that was my harbor freight chinese spy ballon i got on sale with a bunch of sparklers tied to a string.

I could not see it without the rifle scope and I looked at it for about a minute and in the scope it moved maybe 1/2 of an inch in that time frame.
Super slow and very far off, scope was on 7 power.

Neat thing to see anyway.

The planet is Venus. You probably saw an airplane with a contrail, which would have looked like a comet. 5 minutes later, the airplane would have been gone.
