The RM Lowrider is well made out of a single sheet of 100 kydex; the PJ is also nicely made, but from .080 kydex. The weak link on both of these is at the top of the clip, where the kydex folds and will be sitting on top of your belt and pants. Make sure you have your pistol in the holster when you put it on or take it off so the kydex is supported and backed up, or SNAP! The PJ gets a star here for reinforcing the clip; you can see the reinforcement in the photos. More good news is this: if you DO manage to break it, both offer FREE Replacement, PJ for 1 year, RM for life. Can’t beat that deal at all. Cost: the RM is $60, the PJ is $55. The PJ Ships in a week right now and the RM goes out in 3-4. So; both of these are well worth the dough, you can’t go wrong with either one. I have to say I would choose the RM Lowrider solely as it is the original of the style. And, yes, I have broken a clip; I snapped that sucker right off! I emailed RM holsters, told him about it, and within the week, the man had a new one deliver to my door, free. he asked me if I would send the broken pieces back so he could examine it and see if he could find a fix for this. I did, of course.
First of all, let me say that I really like the design and execution of both of these holsters. I found the RM Lowrider first and I still feel this is the best single clip IWB available. Not only do I wear these quite often for quick on and off, but they are very unobtrusive and surprisingly comfortable. The PJ IWB is basically a clone of the RM. (I say this because I believe RM came out with this idea of an integral, folded-over clip first...I'm pretty sure; like 99% sure). Another outfit, JSHolsters, made a very similar holster, but they have closed shop here recently due to the fact that the guy who actually made the rigs passed away. One difference is the RM Lowrider has a split, integral folded clip so you can straddle a belt loop if need be. The PJ doesn’t have this, but it’s an easy fix; a few minutes with a dremel and a medium sanding drum and voila! Split belt loop clip is done.
