My immediate family is 25, wouldn't take many family members to stumble in to reach 30. Thanksgiving dinners are normally 45-50.
I would try to remain separate but friendly and allied. Much like the outlying ranch and visiting town but aware of attacks from hostiles. While keeping a seat on the council.
