Message: <blockquote data-quote="loudshirt" data-source="post: 1431933" data-attributes="member: 10585"><p>I think Congressmen would do better with getting a security detail/body guard for use at public events.  Just like banning guns and high capacity magazines is a knee jerk reaction, so is everyone running out to get a gun.  The security detail would be better trained to use the force up to and including deadly force during public events.  It would also allow the Congressman to concentrate on what he is doing instead of scanning the crowd for the bad guy.  I am all for them carrying while going to and from work, out eating with family and such.  At a public event it would be much better for them to be whisked away to safety, instead of standing and fighting, while the security detail neutralizes the threat.  A high profile death is just what all terrorist organizations, international or domestic, are after.</p></blockquote><p></p>
