You remind me of this story I heard, I think on Hee Haw or somewhere.... About a family, and the wife was an excellent cook, and anytime they had guests she went way overboard and would serve several different kinds of meat, and a whole big spread of different dishes. Everything she cooked was great. One day they had several guests over and she just slightly overcooked some of the meat. All through the meal, her husband kept calling it "burnt meat". He'd say, "Here, have some more of this old burnt meat." Or, "Pass me a little more of that old burnt meat." Finally his wife got fed up with it and says to him, "Well... I noticed you sure didn't have any trouble EATING any of that old burnt meat!" He looked at her and said, "Well, darlin'... if it hadn't been burnt, there wouldn't have been ENOUGH of it!" :pms2: That story always reminded me of my mother-in-law. She was kind of that way, and was an incredible cook back in the day. I can't really remember her overcooking anything though.
