Dave Spaulding (Norman city council Ward 5 candidate)

Well, this is a first. I just received a campaign mailer from Dave Spaulding, candidate for Norman Ward 5 city councilman. I haven't read it all yet, but he's very up front about supporting the 2nd Amendment--and that appears the main thrust of the mailer. Normally, these mailers are about more city councilly issues (roads, trash collection, etc), so it's weird to see an RKBA mailer.

I think I'll have to take a look at him. Do any of y'all know him (or of him)?

No. Spaulding is the incumbent City Councilman from Ward 5; Kempf is a candidate for Mayor.

FWIW, I received a campaign mailer from Spaulding's opponent that made the decision to vote for him a lot easier, and I've never been a fan of the current mayor.

No worries--it was actually useful to me. I hadn't really looked into the mayoral candidates at that point (other than wanting someone who is not the current mayor), so your post prompted me to look. Thanks!
