The Police are subject to two investigations. First is the Garrity Investigation. The officer may not refuse to answer these questions at the risk of being fired. The Garrity (or admin) Investigator is prohibited from sharing information with the Criminal Investigator. http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/getcase.pl?court=us&vol=385&invol=493 Big article in the Daily Oklahoman about how OKC Officers will be given 48 hours before making a statement. The article does not specify if it is the Garrity or the Criminal investigation. Top experts in force/shooting investigation? http://www.forcesciencenews.com/home/index.html I've said it before and I'll say it again. The investigation will go on for days, weeks, and possibly even months. Waiting 2 hours for your lawyer to arrive should not damage the quality of the investigation. Failing to let your Lawyer speak for you may damage the quality of your future. Your police officer wants your statement, only natural. Your lawyer wants you to shut up, only natural. One of them does not have your best interests at heart and the other is concerned exclusively with your best interests. Do the math. Watch the video "Don't talk to the Police even if you are innocent". The lawyer explains it in detail.
