So this is the first time I've been in the building since June, I think. I was out from late March till June, when they started "opening up" I went back once, maybe twice(?) and since then have just been 'attending' virtually through YouTube. I had COVID in Nov, then I got the shots in late Dec and Jan, so I've been "immune" (for whatever good that does) for at least a few months now, but my wife and kid aren't, so we've been continuing to stay home from church. We go to the store, we go out to eat sometimes (not like we used to), but we have tried to be somewhat more cautious - I don't want my wife to get sick, and even though she volunteers in the local free clinic, she is categorized as Group 3, which I think means she'll get vaccinated sometime in the summer or fall, at this rate. But I've mostly stopped wearing my mask in the grocery store - I still wear it in the clinic, although I will often remove it when actually IN the room with patients and tell them they can do so, as well. We want people wearing them in public areas. We actually had a very contentious vote on this subject in our weekly physicians' meeting last week - we nearly got rid of the mask mandate, but it got kinda snippy, so one person swung their vote back to keep it in place a while longer. We know the time is coming to get rid of the mandate, but not everyone is ready for that, yet. I did wear my mask in church going to and from my seat, I didn't hang around and hobnob with folks (I'm kinda antisocial, lol). It's funny, we decided to do the early YouTube church service, as my wife is going up to the church for a class she wanted to attend that started a couple weeks ago and runs during the late service. I'm not going to that because I've already done the same class through my Sunday evening men's group. But after the first service, I just felt like I wanted to go to the live, in-person service. So I did. Same songs, same message, etc., but I just decided, "I'm done with virtual church," so I went ahead and went on in. Chairs are more spaced out (more room between rows), looks like maybe ½ of the previous crowd there, maybe a little more. I just thought I'd share. I dunno how many here are doing online church, skipping altogether, or have gone back yet. I realize some of you think going to church at all is moronic, that's ok. I just felt like sharing, I know some people are struggling with this type of decision about now.
