So the law is the law, unless you're Mark Mullin or Charles Dreyling Jr. Republican gets Oklahoma City airport bomb suspect out of jail By Michael Hampton Posted: August 22, 2005 3:54 pm [Former Oklahoma City mayor Kirk Humphreys, a Republican, helped Charles Alfred Dreyling, 24, get out of jail last week after he was arrested carrying a pipe bomb into Will Rogers World Airport. Dreyling told authorities that he had made the device and said it was “basically a pipe bomb,” according to an affidavit. Dreyling said he built the device for entertainment value, never intending to hurt anyone, and forgot that it was in his carryon bag when he brought it to the airport, the affidavit said. Dreyling said he learned as a teenager how to build homemade explosives from Web sites like “The Anarchist’s Cook Book.” Dreyling said he has built and detonated several explosive devices for recreational purposes, according to the affidavit. - Airport Business Humphreys testified at Dreyling’s court hearing. Based in part on Humphreys’ testimony, Dreyling was released to the custody of his mother on $10,000 bail. If convicted, Dreyling faces up to 10 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine.] http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=2944506&mesg_id=2944668 Explosive device nets probation Norman man avoids prison after 2005 arrest at airport [B][B][Federal sentencing guidelines still called for as much as 10 months in prison on the reduced charge, but U.S. Magistrate Judge Doyle W.
