I joined in mid 70's, went through the  offices ,received some awards,serviced as a chapter advisor later. It teaches lessons that are lacking today ,brotherhood, respect, commitment, how to be upright, be a good friend/teacher/citizen .One young men in my chapter was the brother of a Camp Scott  Victim when he came in he was remote and  stand offise but with time he  bloomed becoming outgoing and a fine young man and went on to have a good life and many friends. Some of members /adults your son meets will be  his friends for life and be there for him in times of need .</blockquote>
