[QUOTE="mugsy, post: 2274235, member: 18914"] I believe several of these causes - the Hippies (well, really ideologically Liberal 1960-70s cultural leaders) did cause a problem, in particular they left an indelible mark on the education system and not for the better. Parents are responsible, responsible to do their best to fight a school system that actively destroys the moral and ethical foundations of a great nation. I homeschooled or parochial schooled our five children for as much as possible once we really began to see what was being taught in schools - and it isn't just the "Three Rs" (which is done reasonably well). EZ Bake - I'm glad that the 60's brought about the end of legal racial segregation. If that was the sum-total of the 60's legacy we would both be in total agreement. However, the cultural changes unleashed in parallel to (not caused by) the civil rights movement have had far longer term, wider ranging, and more debilitating effects than anyone would have dared fear.
