Bought a 98 grand cherokee on the cheep. Has some issues but nothing that I cant get past for the price. Being a low dollar toy puller/4X4 not really going to drop tons of money into it. T

he plastic body cladding was the ugliest shade of faded grey ever, and of course the head liner was T-bagging me and crapping brown fuzz all over me. So for about 40$ I got 6 rattle cans of bed liner and went to town. Pulled the head liner out, took the fabric off scraped off the old glue and bedined it. Im taping mylar matrial between the roof and the pannel to hopefully help with the heat. Then taped off and painted all of the plastic body and the "chrome" grill. Looks great for doing it solo. I didnt take any before photos, but here is the after.

For headliner insulation, that stuff looks like foil backed bubble wrap works great. I don't remember what it's called though.

Here is what mine looked like before I started. Faded grey body panels, chrome grill. Now bed lined. I dont like the look of full bed lined, but I figure if its 2 tone might as well make it look not worn out.

So anyone whos interested at all in an update. The radiator caught a rock about 2 weeks after I bought it. Im not extreamly mechanically inclined, but I was going to be damned if I was paying 400-500 bucks to have it swaped it out. So after buying a used radiator off craigslist for 30 bucks that was a bust I found out why its better to buy new. So I pitted two parts companies against eachother and 80$ and free 2 day shipping later I had a full weekend project full of blood sweat and beers. Plenty of YouTube and cusswords later I had a replaced radiator. (Sorry no pictures of the swap). But after that victory I discovered I fried a relay that controls my interior lights and I dont know which one it is so I found a neat little dohicky at northern tool, its an led light pod with a lightbswitch. A little velcro later and this thing lights up the entire interior. While I was there I picked up four $6 lights just for looks at the moment.

Also my tires were crap when I bought it(had to fill up 2 tires at least once per week), but knew jeep rims and rubber are plentiful out there on the second hand market. After pacience I found a set of 5 TJ rims with like new radials (1500 miles on them) for $200 a phenomenal deal. Granted they arent rubicon moab rims, but I wasnt going to be to picky. Picking them up they had a little rash on them and I still had a can and a half of spray on bed liner. So after some degreasing and serious scuffing I painted them. Are they perfect? No, but im like a hi-point owner... "looks good to me". Got these mounted up last night and the driving experience is night and day. Use to feel like I was floating and sliding in xorners and turns, now it really feels like I have some grip and control. I painted them at night because it was to damn hot durring the day. I also need to find some center caps for them. Next project is new shocks, im debating rubicon express or skyjacker, and a 2.25 budget boost. Also need to buy and mount a trailer
