I don't normally remember my dreams. It's pretty rare, and I've only been up a few minutes, so this one is fading pretty fast, too. I don't think that guns are often an integral part of my dreams, but it's difficult to say. Anyways tonight I had a dream, very strange, something about having to clear a house, was protecting some people, not just my family, but some others too. Anyways, maybe it was a typical Hollywood dramatic thing, but there were only two guys but I could NOT bring them down. lol. I was using both my Glock G22 in .40, and when that wasn't working, I switched to my Springfield 1911. Multiple shots to center mass, multiple head and face shots - nothing was working. I did finally get both of them down with enough face shots, the second took several through the mouth into the brainstem (the "apricot"). It may sound kind of morbid... but literally this is what I was thinking about during the dream. And the biggest concern to me, once it was over, and even though it was a clearly (at that time, not so much now, lol) "good shoot" because of whatever the circumstances were, that I was worried about the cops coming and not believing what had happened, and me going to prison - and it was specifically because of how many times each guy had been shot. I was afraid that was going to make it look terrible - you know the media catch-phrases - "multiple reloads", "spraying bullets", "high-capacity magazines", "dozens of rounds". I woke up in a panic, not because of the situation, not because of the shooting, or even because of my seeming lack of efficacy in stopping the threat quickly in spite of being relatively accurate, but fear of prosecution. I dunno... it was just weird. Weird dream. Like I said, I don't recall firearms usually being central to the few dreams I remember, and nothing specific yesterday seems to have brought this out - except maybe all the coverage of the police shootings. I didn't watch any movies, it was my only day off in a nearly 2-week span and I played a little Destiny with my son, watched a couple episodes of Triple D and one of Survivor with my wife. That's it. Oh well... I'm just stir-crazy after working so much, I guess. And going back tonight. Well, the good news is, when I'm totally zonked after working, I am usually so dead-tired I don't dream much - maybe it's the whisky... I didn't have any of that last night. ;)
