Documentary on Gun Laws and the 2nd Amendment

Good day,

I'm new to your board so I hope you don't mind me introducing myself to you in this way.

My partner and I are Emmy award winning producers from Northern California. Two years ago we started working on a film about street gangs invading rural California. Due to my repeated contact with gang members, it was recommend that I obtain a CCW permit - which I did. The process led to me learn about the backward gun laws of California compared to the rest of the Union. Through research I discovered that there has never been a positive documentary about the 2nd Amendment and gun ownership in America.

Assaulted: Civil Rights Under Fire will be such a film. Supported by the CalGuns Foundation and Second Amendment Foundation, this PTV/PBS documentary will look at how California is the front line in gun control battle. The film will look at the current assault weapon ban proposals in California and Washington, DC, as well as, CCW permitting across the USA.

Chino huh? I used to work just west of you down the 57 in Brea. Also did a 1 year stint in Anaheim. Some pretty country and some good folks in those parts. I got out mostly due to the congestion, but there was no way I was staying with their taxes, cost of living and most of all, gun laws! Welcome to the board and good luck.

I do believe he was saying that it's the front line as in the fight is the worst to fight in Cali. IE, their laws suck the most. I couldn't agree more.

I wish you gentlemen the very best success in this endeavor. I am amazed that it has taken so long for anyone to treat this subject as a civil rights issue since the 2nd Amendment clearly references the right of the people to keep and bear arms - a right being systematically and forcefully attacked in California (and a few other states).

Thanks for the warm welcome! And Thanks, Danny, for the link repost. Shadowrider, we are based in Chico, not Chino. Chico is home to Sierra Nevada Beer, not the
prison. But we might as well all be thugs in specific counties of California, when we try to acquire a firearm. We will highlight that in the documentary, and the history of gun ownership in America compared to the present day. There are other threads that will be spun in this doc, so any insight, ideas, viewpoints anyone has, please feel free to post or IM me. Thanks again!
