Moonshine used to be plentiful and some was pretty good if it had been aged in a charred keg. To refer to some white liquor as "good" really means it is not as bad as most of it. Moonshine is just raw alcohol cut with varying amounts of water and produced under varying levels of quality control. Some is just hot and some has an awful whang that reminds me of tequila.
