I had the "pleasure" of trying Ole Smoky store bought and real honest to goodness Tennessee hill moonshine last year at deer camp. Had a fella with us in deer camp who grew up helping his grandfather back in the day in Eastern Oklahoma with real stuff. I thought the real stuff seemed to be a bit smoother, (if you can call 150 + proof smooth). Old Smokey was not as high in the proof arena but seemed a bit harsher.. The fella in camp(w/ "experience") tried 'em both and told us that the real stuff to him was much better. Either one of the types was way too much "firepower" for this old fat boy to drink straight. I was mixing it up with orange juice and here to tell you slept VERY well that night. Next morning getting up to go the woods was a little rougher than normal..
