Elcheapo 300AAC AR...is it gonna work?

So my buddy wanted to sell his FBT complete lower...I asked how much and he says $100. Ok, SOLD.
I post a want ad for an upper and a board member responds with a 300AAC upper less BCG and CH for 235. I offer 200 and he agrees. Ok, SOLD.
Go to FBT today to pick up a BCG and CH...get an Anderson for this and a BCM CH to put in my better AR...and use the one from there in this one.
Net cost is $375 and its "ready to shoot".
So...is it gonna work?

BCG is pretty tight. I disassembled it and put it through two cycles in the sonic cleaner then soaked it down with EWL so hopefully a few shots will lap it together. The upper is basically unknown to me...seller said he bought the barrel and stripped upper from BP Outfitters and had them assemble it. Seems everything should jive...guess I will know Tuesday.
Upper came with the keymod rail and MBUS. After I verify it works I'd like to get a longer handguard and some fixed sights...maybe some Magpul furniture and call it done. Trying not to spend a fortune as I just want a "truck gun" to toss around. She aint pretty but what AR's are?

do you reload or know someone who will let you. Ammo can't be bought in builk like .223, 5.56, and any ak x39 variations. Canned heat may be an option, or freedom?

I do reload and just scored a ton of powder and projectiles for crazy cheap so I am gonna have some cheap 300AAC shooting.

For now I'm gonna shoot factory stuff. I have an assortment of projectiles from 120-220gr to work with and see what I like best.

If you need more factory loads, the South Elm Place Walmart had a bunch of Remington supersonic for about $17.00 a box.

Well that went about as expected...not at all.

I had "elcheapo" 300 and my better 300 with me, as well as Barnes and S&B ammo.
Both ammo cycled through the better 300 and shot good...neither shot in elcheapo.
Swapped uppers...and now neither gun worked so it looks like elcheapo has some issue with the upper and lower.

I got elcheapo lower from a friend because it wouldnt work right in his rifle either so I'll probably take it apart and check the springs and such.
The upper was unknown built by someone else and I put an anderson BCG in and a generic milspec charging handle. I'm going to guess its a gas system issue on that upper as it was short stroking. Some it would eject the shell but not go far enough back to strip a new round in...some would jam in the ejection port. Sometimes the trigger would reset and sometimes it wouldnt.

As far as the elcheapo lower on my good upper...light primer strikes again (symptom my buddy had) so that goes hopefully to just a spring kit.

I didnt have high hopes for a $375 gun but i'll get it figured out eventually.
