Montana Senators oppose this. THe link to their letter is here. http://www.nraila.org/media/pdfs/Baucus_TesterltrtoBATFE122310.pdf Perhaps our own senators here may also be persuaded to contact BATFE. I have contacted both Coburn at: http://coburn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/contactsenatorcoburn?p=ContactForm and Inhofe at: http://inhofe.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=contact.contactform Here is my text to them, just for information: Dear Senator XXX (Coburn or Inhofe), It seems that the BATFE is seeking to expand reporting requirements of gun dealers through the regulatory process without any legislative backing. There is already sufficient legislative backing, in my opinion, to allow BATFE to deny purchases from criminal citizens, as well as to trace multiple gun purchases. This further regulatory expansion without transparent legislative debate is very worrisome to me, as a US citizen. As your constituent, I urge you to cosign the letter sent by Montana Senators, and available at: http://www.nraila.org/media/pdfs/Baucus_TesterltrtoBATFE122310.pdf Sincerely [NAME here] ________________ I would urge every member here to send a similar letter if they can, to their senators/house members. Let's get this stopped!
