500 S&W Mag retail $30 something to $50 something for a box of 20 444 Marlin about the same 450 Marlin again about the same 45-70 Gov't once again about the same. Me at about a $1-$1.50 a box. Yeah I had some up front cost. But it's long since paid for itself. Heck the money saved on one box would offset the cost of a Lee mold. On top of that I find it quite relaxing as a hobby. It really doesn't take long to recoup your investment if you shoot very much at all. I think that explains why I've pretty much stuck with the Lee casting stuff. It works and is inexpensive. Yes I've had a couple I had to chunk in the trash but heck at 1/4 - 1/10 the price of high dollar molds who cares. Like everything else unfortunately it's hit or miss if you can find everything you need to start right now. But if you've started thinking you want to be prepared for the next ammo crisis I think this is one of those investments that can sit up on a shelf until you do need it. My casting only really took off back when I shot compeitively because I couldn't afford buying bullets and buying food for my family.
