[QUOTE="nofearfactor, post: 1316901, member: 1535"] My favorite cake/dessert in the whole world is Tiramisu,if someone else makes it. I tried once after going all over the place to get exactly the right stuff to make it, and fudded it up. Never tryin again. I buy it now at an Italian restaurante like youre supposed to do. If I was to bake a cake myself it would be German chocolate or Red Velvet, but no one else in the house likes either so I would be stuck eating one all by myself even when I wanted one for my birthday. My wife goes to Marie Calenders or Merritts bakery and brings me something on my birthday now. My wife makes great cakes and pies and her mothers recipe for a basic homeade from scratch not out of box mix is just a basic chocolate sheet cake with chocolate icing and pecans on top- its a fave of ours. Her homeade key lime pie though is hit and miss- she squeezes her own Key limes by hand but if you rush her for some reason they come out too sour. My momma makes great homeade pineapple upside down and angel food cakes. Mmmmm. Lollll. My wife and almost her whole family are all diabetics and watching them hit the sweets after dinner at family gatherings is like watching a bunch of vampires jump on a fresh body and tear it up.
