Last weekend my wife and I went to Second Chance in Norman to adopt a dog. As we were viewing all the dogs in their pens, we noticed this little rat terrier that was just kind of chilling in the back while all the other dogs went bezerk. I've seen enough Cesar Milan to know that was a positive thing, so we did the paperwork and took him home. We named him Pax, Latin for "peace", because of his calm demeanor (though that did kind of wear off once we got him home, but he's a small dog so it wasn't really intolerable). On the car ride home, my wife mentions she feels like her allergies were kicking on and she may be allergic to him. The week goes on and anytime she was around him, she complained her sinuses were getting congested and she itched in the back of her eyes. Well, today she took him back to the shelter. I've never had a dog, other than for about a year when I was a kid. I really enjoyed having him around when I came home and being able to play with him. I know he'll get re-adopted quickly, but I also know he would have had a good home here. Who knows what kind of a home he'll go to now. Goodbye, Pax. I'm sorry we had to give you back :(
