Felonies?

Ok, so if you are convicted of a felony offense then you lose your right to vote. But you can still run and serve in congress. Or you might get convicted of a felony while serving in congress. Why? Why do you get to serve in congress but you can't vote because of a felony.


I'm just confused about the hyprocrisy.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to get felons the right to vote. I'm just wondering about the difference.
