Female Conservative Suspended, Loses Gig at St. Louis Paper After Pro-NRA Column
By Curtis Houck | May 3, 2017 | 11:40 PM EDT

"On Monday, conservative columnist Stacy Washington was suspended/terminatedfrom her job as a columnist for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and companion website stltoday.com after she defended the National Rifle Association (NRA) on April 28 from a ludicrous suggestion that they’re similar to ISIS."...

No doubt. The left is doing everything they can to defeat the 1st Amendment. From the campus riots against conservative speakers to CNN's and other MSM refusal to carry an RNC Trump TV ad highlighting his successes.
Jack booted thugs, they have been called, and they are proving it every day. Papers Please?

Mindlessly parroting failed talking points with an overlay of inane hyperbole is not enough. Liberals and the progressively challenged need to censor differing opinion to sell their flawed ideological bend.

At the root this is just another example of liberal intolerance.

Godwin be damned, think about this … What other political party in history besides the Democrat Party was about forcing their message out through media and the schools, was for the liberal wet-dream of gun control, believed in taking over some businesses, was for socialized medicine and abortion on demand?

I'm no expert but why is this not a lawsuit case for wrongful termination?

Absent an actual or implied contract, Missouri is an "at-will" employment state. You can be sent down the road for any or no cause and you can leave an employer for any or no cause. It is some tricky legal ground but the burden is effectively on the employee and most won't pursue that because of high cost.

ETA: as a black female, this person is in a very strong position, IMO. A threat of legal action in a strong letter from a lawyer might garner some $$$$.

A few more details emerge: she was also a vocal advocate for the NRA, and failed to disclose that in her article. She was suspended for failing to disclose the conflict of interest. Absent some strong evidence showing that reason was merely pretextual, she probably doesn't have a serious case for discrimination.

Was she being paid by them though? That's the question. And she has said that she is not paid by the NRA.
