with the OSU house slippers, should we dare ask how hard you hit the kids? Just kidding. Too soon? A year ago this past nov. 9th i re-injured my lower back. Pain, uncontrollable spasms, muscle mass loss, the works. (previous L5-S1 fusion with success for five years before i was stupid and hurt myself again). I was depressed, never thought i'd ride a bike again (which was my sole activity and joy). Well, with lots of PT and time i've worked my way into it again and realized the other day that i'm now 98.6 miles short of 3,000 miles for the year. I still have pain but i never thought i'd get back to this point (especially being able to ride a mountain bike again). It doesn't seem like much compared to the road, but i did 8.6 miles in 56 minutes today with a HR average of 146bpm. Two PRs and a second best time on three sections of trail. My goal is 3,000 by Dec 31st and i am hopeful i can get it even with holiday travel
