Yep. If I did everything the docs told me to do I'd be dead and gone from boredom ...
I walked out on a hand surgeon last week. He said I’d be really uncomfortable if the anesthesiologist used a block instead of a general anesthesia on a wrist surgery I need. My parting words were “I’ve been uncomfortable for the past three decades I know how to deal with it.”

I want it to get cold, very cold. Hate to say that for those who hate cold weather. It kills off insects and other arachnids. I hate bugs.

They have short life spans anyway, eggs survive the coldest of the cold temps and hatch the next spring regardless. Canada is notorious for its summer mosquito and insect population despite -50⁰ winter temps every winter. I'd be okay if it never got below 32⁰ here lol.

No need to go under a general for an extremity surgery. I’ve had 5 knee surgeries and two on my left hand using a block. Some surgeons throw a tizzy about using blocks because it messes with the “mood” in the operating room. That tidbit came from my daughter who works at Mercy. Using a block makes the whole recovery process the day of surgery so much easier. The surgeons that I’ve been to in Alaska and Washington never gave me problem when I requested a block. Come to Oklahoma and they throw a fit. Acting like I’m stupid or something.

I miss a variety of winter activities, yes, I can go on vacation and experience them, but not every weekend. Snowmobiling is an excellent example, even in spite of an injury accident and a $3,000 replacement cost of a totalled snowmobile. Last heavy snowfall I enjoyed shoveling snow, and even with that said I shoveled snow at my sister's house last time I stayed there in the winter months. Walking in the snow is great exercise. However, I can see how many do not enjoy it. I would hate to work outdoors with snow, ice and cold. I would hate to be a LEO having to drive in it every day. Whiskey, schnaps and brandy taste amazing outdoors or by a fire in cold weather, assuming one is not driving or snowmobiling. We do have an outdoor firepit, and do roast smores over it. As for the insects many cannot survive cold, many can, millions of years of evolution has seen to that. Perhaps it is just me anecdotally imagining light insect summers.

This old tree tells no lies! Not to many Willow Oaks around and rarely this large. 88 ft wingspan. Best I can figure is between 80 and 90 ft tall.
