I miss a variety of winter activities, yes, I can go on vacation and experience them, but not every weekend. Snowmobiling is an excellent example, even in spite of an injury accident and a $3,000 replacement cost of a totalled snowmobile. Last heavy snowfall I enjoyed shoveling snow, and even with that said I shoveled snow at my sister's house last time I stayed there in the winter months. Walking in the snow is great exercise. However, I can see how many do not enjoy it. I would hate to work outdoors with snow, ice and cold. I would hate to be a LEO having to drive in it every day. Whiskey, schnaps and brandy taste amazing outdoors or by a fire in cold weather, assuming one is not driving or snowmobiling. We do have an outdoor firepit, and do roast smores over it. As for the insects many cannot survive cold, many can, millions of years of evolution has seen to that. Perhaps it is just me anecdotally imagining light insect summers.
