[QUOTE="inactive, post: 1916245, member: 7488"] Sam's off road has rather high rates from what I have seen (based on my own quotes, not just what you mentioned). I just had to have front axle work done on my Jeep and used the independent shop I mentioned earlier in this thread. They did an axle half shaft and sub shaft, which included tearing apart the differential. It was approx. $700 for parts in labor. This beats Sam's price by 300 bucks assuming the parts cost and labor times are similar (and they probably aren't too different). I also had the same shop put a front leveling kit (purchased online) on for me. It was 2 hours shop labor (so, $120 bucks or so), which is about half of what Sam's quoted me for the install. I could have done it myself, and was ready to, but with a wife and two kids sometimes it's worth it to save my own time and have a pro do it. I am unsure why they would tell you to replace the gears just because they have it opened up. If the car hasn't been driven into the dirt, the gears should be fine at 92k miles. I would think they'd be better to give a recommendation after they had it open, not to suggest replacement from the start because they had it "torn down anyways" because they were looking at bearings.
