I am cleaning out a house for a guy and I really find not one but two 03a3s
plus half a garand The 03a3s are parade rifles I think .
They look to be chromed and I also found alot of blank ammo
One is complete the other is missing some parts Going to have my gunsmith check them out
to see if we can get a shooter out of them
Hope to dig up some more cool stuff buried under that mountain of trash

Sounds pretty cool. Some of those parade rifles have been brought back to shooting status and at one time I thought about trying to restore one. I talked myself out of it after seeing some kabooms on restored parade 03s and 03A3s. At any rate they are a cool find!

Only thing I need now is a gas lock and front hand gaurd
I think this will be my new project Thinking about cleaning her up and doing a 308 conversion
Looks like most parts are S.A. but the bolt its W.R.A.

You might contact the CMP to check the provenance of the drill rifles. They could actually still be U.S. government property. Lots of rifles were loaned out to organizations for drill use, and are supposed to be turned back in when no longer needed.

(just a "better safe than sorry" thing.)

Cool find though. Give us some pictures! Did the guy you are cleaning out the house for give the rifles/parts to you?

I'd keep it 30-06 but that is just me.
