While moving out our old bed to put our new one in, we came across a few old items that I guess I had put in a shoe and slid under the bed to be forgotten about. Been a few years. When my wife would vacuum under the bed, no telling how many times this shoe had just been scooted out of the way with no clue that anything was in it. A Boker Subcom folder, a Buck/Strider folder were two of the things.
The best is a Surefire L2 Lumamax. In its day it was (and in some ways still is) an awesome lights. Today its performance would be considered pretty dismal. Running on high (100 lumens) for less than an hour and even at that it drops to 50% brightness in 30 or 40 minutes. Compared to a Fenix PD30 with over 250 lumens at near full brightness for just over 2 hours you can see how far lights have come.
I took it out last night with a fresh set of batteries....probably about 45 minutes runtime on high before output was so low as to be nearly useless...sure was fun though. A good light to be back in the collection and carry from time to time for fun.
