France denies access to refuge for Mayan end-of-the-world believers

I was at a Mayan Ruin this summer and, as I'm sure happens during every single tour, somebody asked our tour guide about the end of the world. He chuckled and explained everything, which took a good 15-20 minutes. Something about the way they designed their calendars back then, based off the 9-month gestation period, stacking new calendars on top of old, blah blah. I honestly got bored listening and focused my attention on taking pictures. Bottom line is, he ended the explanation by saying, "We look forward to another successful summer of tours next year."
