Partner and I made 3 more calling stands yesterday morning, called 3 total. First stand, we had one at 20 yards under the call in about 30 seconds, just another reminder to always be ready from the get go, it smelled by footprints and ran off, partner missed it on the run as it left when it wouldn't stop. Second stand was blank, third stand we had one show up straight south of us, partner shot at it, I thought it hit it but could find no evidence of it afterwards. After it left, had another one show up due west of us, tried pulling it closer until it started trotting off, finally barked it to a stop and sent one. Made a hit, but it got through the fence to the river bottom I guess, seemed like it took the bullet strike sound forever to get back to me, guessed it was 250-300 yards out, was just glad to hit it! Hope to get after some more in a few days...

Got 3 killed this morning, I killed top two in pics, partner got bottom one...all on one stop, other 4 stands were blanks...shot the middle one while deciding where to sit, she popped out in the open about 200 yards out, and regretted it...we moved 1/2 mile due south from there, and killed the other 2 as a split double...partner shot his at ~80 yards, mine was ~175-200 yards...landowner will be happy!

ETA-top pic, female that weighed 38 lbs, other two were good sized too, probably 30+ each!

Just saw the results from last weekends fur sale. The results were much worse than I expected. High price for bobcats was $46. Raccoon high was $4.50.
I know most people are not in it for the money, but it’s a labor of love at those prices.
Man that sucks. Can't even pay for fuel at those prices.
Yes, it's a labor of love because we want those nest robbers out of the food chain.

Coyotes have been the only thing paying fairly well out here, what did they bring there? Eastern coyotes and cats in general are usually low.
