I've never replaced a starter on any car, but I've replaced MANY batteries. I've even had batteries "test" good, but just didn't work. I believe it's due to one or more (but not all) of the cells in the battery going bad. The battery will "sort of" work for powering small things like dashboard lights and maybe even headlights but when it comes time for cranking the starter it just won't do it.Good luck.
