Nice thought, but I doubt the trooper would care - they were probably given the opportunity to purchase their old duty weapon before it was traded in and they declined. If it were me, I’d be enjoying the new gun I just got and not wondering where the old one wound up.

You’d be surprised. There’s a lot more sentimentality than you’d think. Plus it would give added history to the pistol.

I have a Sig Sauer P6 with the German officers name on the box it came in. I’ve been thinking about sending a letter to him through his agency just to see if I’d get a reply.

If he replied that would be an awesome document to keep with the weapon.

He might be able to describe and narrate the occurrences of all the dings it has. Tell it's story so to speak. It might have been involved in saving the officer's life or it might bring back a bad memory. You never know. Google the trooper's name to see if he was involved in any news stories.

Are there any of these left? What company has them for sale?

The Gen-4 37 is a great gun. It’s a 45 caliber using a 9mm frame. The biggest complaint is ammo availability. It’s not as bad as people say it is. If you reload, you can use the same dies as the ACP. It uses small primers and it’s fun to watch the brass grabbers at a match when they pick up what they think is ACP brass.

The only thing I don’t like with mine is the 10 round magazines. They work like all the others Glock mags, but getting that 10th round in is tough without a magazine loading tool.
