Gen 4 G21 take down problem.

Guys, not sure what is wrong, but I can't seem to remove the slide on gen 4. I have never had this issue before, but it feels like the slide is catching on something and won't slide off the frame. Check clear, pull trigger, grip slide and frame to pull back slightly, slide down slide release lever and release slide forward. It stops about a half inch forward. What am I doing wrong? I know its been a while since I had it apart but I don't want to force it.

If you're pulling the slide back too far it won't come off. If you're not pulling the slide lock down far enough it won't come off. If you don't pull the slide back far enough it won't come off.

Ya first.then retracting the slide there by recocking the striker
