[QUOTE="BamaAlum97, post: 2099331, member: 25989"] This really depends on the type of job you have....I rarely show up at 8:00 sharp...it may be 8:15 or even 8:30 before I get in most mornings. I don't punch a clock and my philosophy for myself and my employees is that you work the hours required to complete the tasks assigned to you. All of my employees have cell phones and can get email remotely. If a call comes in at 8:00am and you are not there, you can bet it gets transferred to your cell and you are on the hook for it. Many times I have worked well into the evening resolving issues or completing projects for customers that require "after-hours" work. I don't get paid 1 penny extra for staying late...if you expect to me to work at 10pm solving for a client, don't bust my chops for walking in at 8:30 the next morning. I'd be more than happy to punch a clock at 8:00 and punch out at 5:00 or get paid extra for OT...but that is not the job that I have. We do have employees who have fixed schedules (7-4, 8-5, etc...) and they are always the ones who complain about other people showing up late...of course they are the ones that leave the second their shift is over and they never complain about the after hours work since they are never involved in it...I tell them to worry about themselves and do the best job in THEIR role and not to worry about what someone in a different role is doing...
