Does anyone have a chart for finding out the date of manufacture of a Glock pistol
by serial number? It is a Gen 3, Glock 22C, caliber .40 S&W .

It's a little hard to read. My came back as december 208 which I think means December 2, 2008? That's probably about right, doesn''t seem like I've had it 10 years, but maybe... Then too, it's a gen 3 and the gen 4's were out.

Also found this on another forum:

Glock Born On Date
There are 3 letters on the barrel next to the S/N, the 3 letters represent the barrel test fire date code:

The first letter is for the month:
E...Jan
L...Feb
N...Mar
B...Apr
S...May
Z...Jun
G...Jul
P...Aug
I...Sep
C...Oct
V...Nov
A...Dec

The last two letters are for the year:
O...0
W...1
K...2
R...3
F...4
M...5
H...6
Y...7
T...8
D...9

You're welcome

I think you might be using the first 4 of the serial number instead of the 3 character date code.
The only US delivered, date-coded, Gen 3s that I'm aware of that had a date coded barrel was some 19s that were brought into the US in late 2008/2009. The code on these were on the top of the barrel.
I know the US delivered date codes stopped somewhere between 1989 and 1990. These earlier ones have the code on the side of the barrel in this order SN... proof marks ... date codes.

Edit: I found some documentation the codes stopped in US destined guns in Nov 1989.

Hmmm... okay, now I'm confused. I was going by the AT on top of the slide, in the same location I saw some sample date codes. The serial number starts with VNN. But I found the test shell case in the box and it's dated 7/23/2013, and the receipt also in the box is dated is dated February 2014.
